Communications Coordinator, Covenant Hospice
I. Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting positive communications for Covenant Hospice. Additionally, will provide support to the Creative Services team and the entire Business Development staff to support the ongoing communications efforts.
II. Qualifications:
An Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Business or Marketing with at least three years work experience is strongly desired. Requires basic computer knowledge and effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented and be able to work without supervision.

IV. Main Duties and Responsibilities
A. Track and manage press release template program for branch offices. Format templates and prepare for submission to the local media outlets. Update and submit quarterly distribution reports.
B. Oversee daily functions of the Business Development office including equipment issues, scheduling administrative volunteers, maintenance needs, retrieving and delivering faxes, etc.
C. Process all Purchase Orders and Check Requests needed within the department. Maintain accurate files of all documentation.
D. Assist the Creative Services department with in-house printing projects. May include printing, cutting, sorting, mailing, etc.
E. Manage the collection of non-paid media clippings, and submit to MDi Media Group for monthly reporting.
F. Scan clippings and send out Media Watch e-mails to branch offices.
G. Maintain and manage signed media releases to ensure proper documentation.
H. Responsible for updating and distributing Disaster Call Back List and Organizational Chart for Business Development department.
I. Assist Communications Director with internal communications tools.
J. Responsible for overseeing purchasing needs of Communications and Creative Services departments.
K. Update and maintain Master Media Contact List.
L. Update website with Covenant Hospice press releases and ongoing calendar listings.
M. Perform additional duties as assigned, by Director, Communications
N. Required to comply with all Covenant Hospice Policies, Procedures and Personnel Policies, including those specifically addressing disaster preparedness and response.
V. Special Demands/Physical Requirements:
This position may sometimes require light to medium lifting of various small equipment items. The position may also require some travel in a motor vehicle in connection with performing the essential functions of the position.

The media planner is responsible for helping to achieve maximum effectiveness for CSU advertising efforts; researching possible advertising opportunities; buying space for print and online ads; and evaluating advertising results. This position reports directly to the CSU communications manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
