PURPOSE OF POSITION                                

Implements and maintains communications strategy and programs to effectively promote Cox Communications products and services.  Supports in the strategizing, planning and producing of all external advertising materials for marketing initiatives.   Works closely with product marketing to develop appropriate messaging and tactics for advertising initiatives. Assists in the development, production, inventory, and distribution of materials to maximize sales efforts, customer loyalty and customer retention. Provides support to overall marketing strategy.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

·         Designs and develops effective integrated, multi-tactical marketing communications programs using varied mediums and channels to successfully promote Cox Communications and its products and services in order to produce customer (RGU) and revenue growth in the residential and/or commercial business segments.

·         Utilizes mediums that include television, print, radio and door tags to produce leads for all sales channels, ranging from making the phones ring in the call center.

Mill Communications Manager

Position Description- The Mill Communications Manager position for the Pensacola Mill will primarily support the Pensacola mill and community, with ad hoc communication support for the Henderson, Ky., mill. The position is located in Cantonment, Fla.

Key Accountabilities

On-Site Support Responsibilities

  • Communications manager on-site, dotted line to the mill manager, direct reporting to the senior communication manager, Industrial Packaging

  • Overall responsibility for employee communications, leadership communication, community relations, crisis communications, media relations, and stakeholder management.

  • Manage public relations campaign surrounding construction of new $85 million wastewater pipeline project

  • Manage crisis communications and ensure crisis communication plans exist and key people are trained on crisis communication processes and protocols. On-call 24/7 for crisis response needs

  • Develop and manage an active media relations strategy (building strategic relationship with media, seeking out positive media opportunities, writing press releases, responding to all media inquiries with key messages)

  • Active community relations strategy to manage community goodwill, identify key risks and manage implementation of strategic community relations initiatives to support mill goals (Community Advisory Council, IP Giving strategy, strategic partnerships/affiliations)

  • Manage internal mill communication systems (leadership communications, employee engagement communications, feedback systems, newsletters, web sites, town hall meetings, etc.)

  • Participates on mill lead team

  • Communications adviser/coach to lead team members, area managers and first-line leaders

  • Responsible for strategic management of multi-year $85 million wastewater project communications activities and strategy, with significant public scrutiny and interest, including management of project public relations agency

  • Manage IP community relations programs for 50-mile radius surrounding Pensacola and Henderson mills, totaling approximately $175,000 in giving, fundraising, and company philanthropic programs

  • Active member of Pensacola Mill Lead Team

  • Active member of ad hoc task teams to enhance communications across International Paper’s U.S. and/or global operations

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum six years of experience
